In a game that will go down in Lowell Spinners history, Connecticut native Jeff Farrell and reliever Jean Guillen combined for the first No-Hitter in franchise history today on August 13 at Hudson Valley.
Congratulations to the whole team!
The last nine inning no hitter by a Lowell pitcher was way back on May 1, 1915 on the Lowell Gray’s Opening Day romp at Worcester.
Talk about a long time in the works…!

…breakdances?
Hi everyone — Jon Shesta here with my favorite Spinners memory. In keeping with our Tenth Anniversary theme, we’re hoping everyone in the front office will chime in with their favorite Spinners memories. But most of all we’re looking for you fans to share some of yours. So leave them in the comments! Now onto my memory. And check out Jon Goode’s Tenth Anniversary Memories as well.
Last season was my second with the team so my memory bank may be a bit smaller than some other members of our front office staff, but last season I witnessed something I never expected to see at the ballpark in a million years.
August 14, 2005 — It was pouring — and I mean pouring — pushing back the start of a game against the Oneonta Tigers. But we were trying our hardest to wait out the weather and play.
Now, rain delays aren’t terrible by any means. We have the VideoBoard and PA blaring. But some of the players got antsy and organized a competition between the two teams. Eventually, they radioed to the PA booth with their musical requests and got their groves on, dancing one team at a time until Oneonta brought out the can-can. Both benches emptied on the the warning track behind home plate to showcase their dance moves and prove their dancing dominance.
What a way to pass the time! The fans that stuck around saw quite a show — those guys could dance!
So what’s your most memorable Spinners moment? Let us know by leaving a comment below!

Hello Fans this is Jon Goode. As many of you know this is a very special season for the Spinners because it’s our 10th Anniversary. Many of us here in the front office cannot believe it has been that long and we have been sharing memories with each other. There have been many good times shared by all.
Personally I will never forget when we set the Guinness Record for the World’s Largest Game of Duck, Duck Goose. It was a year and a half in the making with all the time it took to get an okay from Guinness. Finally we got the okay, set it up for Saturday, August 14 after the game. I was convinced we would get the necessary 350 fans needed and many more.
Then the one thing I was dreading happened! The game went into extra-innings and seriously what are the chances? To top it off the 10th inning came and went. The 11th inning came and went. I literally had John Raffety, our PA Announcer, begging fans to stay so we could set the record. Then the 12th inning came and went, the 13th inning came and went. Finally, the Tri-City Valley Cats pulled out the win in 14 innings. I probably should not admit this, but it was the one time I was actually excited the opposing team scored.
In the end everything worked out and we set the Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Game of Duck, Duck Goose with 432 people. It was a stressful extra-innings for me, but a memory I will never forget.
We would love for you to share some of your favorite memories with us.
