Hattig Makes it Big, 24th Spinner in the Big Leagues

Third baseman John Hattig was recalled by the Toronto Blue Jays yesterday, becoming the 24th former Spinner to make the Major Leagues.

The trade that sent INF/OF Eric Hinske to the Red Sox made room for Hattig on Toronto’s roster.

Hattig, who hit .289 in 61 games with Lowell in 2000 and returned for 11 games in 2001, becomes the first native of Guam in the Major Leagues.

Congratulations, John!
