Former Spinners pitcher TJ Large was flawless in his Arizona Fall League debut Oct. 7. Pitching for the Scottsdale Scorpions, the 2005 and 2006 Spinners closer pitched two scoreless innings, allowing just two hits. Large did not walk or strike out a batter. His battery mate for the Scorpions was also his catcher during his first season in Lowell, Mark Wagner. Wagner went 0-for-3 to start the Fall League season, but did draw a walk.
Large and Wagner are two of six former Spinners on the Scottsdale roster. They are joined by Clay Buchholz (2005), Aaron Bates (2006), Ryne Lawson (2006, 2007) and Beau Vaughan (2003). Check back often to follow their progress throughout the fall.
