Last night the Spinners defeated the Tri-City Valley Cats 7-6 in a wild walk off win, as the Spinners moved their record back to .500. The Spinners held a lead the enitre game until the 9th when the Valley Cats staged a rally and lead 6-5 going into the bottom of the 9th. With 1 out in the inning Christian Vazquez, a new arrival from the Gulf Coast league, stepped up to the plate and belted his first professional home run to tie the score at 6-6. The home run unraveled Valley Cats reliver Mike Modica as he eventually forced in the winning run on a walk to Chris McGuiness. Jeremy Kehrt pitched solid in relief of starter Alex Wilson and went 6 innings allowing 1 earned run and striking out 11.
I have to say that last night was an amazing time, the game featured everything from game tying home runs to manager ejections, the weather was pristine and the crowd was extremley lively. The fans carried the Spinners to a win last night and it was a delight to see our strong fan base out in force last night.
