Spinners Can’t Overcome Mistakes in 4-2 Loss

The Spinners couldn’t keep their win streak alive as they fell 4-2 to the Tri City Valley Cats Monday night. The Spinners were done in by 3 unearned runs in the third inning, as Derrik Gibson misplayed a routine grounder and Jose Alvarez followed it up by allowing a walk and two doubles. The Spinners attempted to rally the next inning as Sean Killeen doubled and Joantoni Garcia lined a pitch off of Tri City pitcher Brenden Stines, however, Killeen was thrown out attempting to take third and Garcia was thrown out trying to reach second, killing the short lived rally. Killeen was 3-4 with a double and Michael Almanzar and Ryan Westmoreland were also 2-4 with doubles.

The Spinners finish off this quick two game road series today as Kason Gabbard takes the mound in his third rehab start. First pitch is at 7:05.
