After a successful 3-2 road trip, the Lowell Spinners return home to the friendly confines of LeLacheur Park to begin a seven-game home stand. The Spinners are 16-8 at home (29-22 overall) and play 13 of their next 19 games at LeLacheur.
Right in the thick of the playoff race, Lowell has a chance to make a statement at home. That statement: “We will fight until the end.”
The first of those home games is tonight at 7 p.m. against Stedler Division rival Vermont. The Lake Monsters are 26-28 and the two teams have split their first eight games against each other.
Teddy Stankiewicz will get the nod on the mound and he will be followed by Jamie Callahan. Stankiewicz boasts a 1.29 ERA in seven innings of work this season. Callahan is 3-1 and was named NYPL Pitcher of the Week two consecutive weeks.
If the Spinners can continue to get dominant pitching and timely hitting, Lowell fans will get a chance to see several more wins at home. And if that happens, the Spinners could hit the road in first place of either the Wild Card race (currently 0.5 games back) or the Division (1.5 games back).
Come out to LeLacheur Park and cheer on your Spinners as they make a push toward the playoffs. It’s bound to be a fun weekend at the ball park! Go Spinners!
